Central and State Governments offer various scholarships for talented and financially backward students. Since the scholarships are distributed through the banks, students are requested to open a savings bank account which is linked with Aadhar in a nationalized, scheduled or commercial bank with IFSC code. The attested copy of the same should be submitted with the application. A student can apply for any number of scholarships, but if selected the student can avail only one scholarship at a time that ensures maximum amount.
In Charge
The SC/ST department offers fee concession to students studying in Plus Two, Degree, Post Graduation, Polytechnic courses belonging to OBC, KPCR with annual income below 1 lakh. There is no income limit for SC/ST, OEC students for receiving fee concession. The students should apply online for the E-Grants from the Akshya Centers and the copy of the same along with Income Certificate, Community Certificate, copy of the savings bank passbook and Aadhar card should be submitted to the head of the institution.
Scholarships are awarded to students of Kerala origin who have qualified meritoriously in the Higher Secondary Examination, for pursuing Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree courses in Basic/ Natural Science in Institutions/ Universities in India. The objective of the program is to motivate aspiring students to higher studies and a career in Science
Every year Kerala State Higher Education council offers scholarship for 1000 talented students studying in I year degree in Govt. or Aided Colleges. Selected students will receive Rs 1,54,000 within 5 years from I year degree programme till completing post graduation. Applications are invited in the month of Nov-Dec.
Under the ministry of Human Resource Development the Central Government offers scholarship for students who scored above 80% marks in plus two exams. The applications are invited in July-Aug. The first year degree students with annual income below 6 lakh are eligible to apply.
This scholarship is offered by the Social Welfare Department of Kerala for the students who do not have mother, father or both and whose guardians are not able to protect them due to ill health or financial reasons. The applications should be submitted to the head of the institutions. After the necessary verification the same will be uploaded in their website.
The applications for the Single Girl Child scholarship offered by the U.G.C will be invited in July-Aug. This scholarship is offered for the single girl child in a family studying in P.G. programmes.
