Instituitional Distinctiveness

Ambedkar College of Arts and Science, Wandoor, is a unique institution from other institutions. Its unique characteristics, values, and qualities, like recreation for SC/ST students, scholarship and educational support, career guidance and placement, etc., set the institution apart from others.

Reservation for SC/ST Category

  • The institution is situated at Wandoor, Malappuram district, Kerala. The wandoor area is mostly populated with SC/ST communities.
  • The Member of Legislative Assembly is also reserved for the SC Community. The sitting MLA, A P Anil Kumar, is the patron of our institute.
  • The institution is the prime institute for SC Community reservation in Kerala.
  • In the institution, 40% of seats in every program are exclusively reserved for SC/ST students.

Ambedkar Lecture Series

  • The Ambedkar Lecture Series is an educational initiative designed to provide in-depth knowledge and foster a deeper understanding of constitutional values, social justice, and democratic principles.
  • Named in honor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, this series aims to perpetuate his legacy by addressing contemporary and historical issues related to his vision of equality and justice.
  • The Ambedkar Lecture Series makes our future generation aware of the hard socio-cultural and political realities of our past and present through a view of an oppressed—dalit, tribe, women, transgender, minority, environment—and makes them able to become effective citizens.
  • The series invites a diverse range of speakers, including constitutional scholars, legal experts, social activists, and distinguished academicians, who bring their expertise and insights to the discussions.

Certificate Courses

  • The Institute is committed to enhancing the educational experience of its students by offering a range of certificate courses.
  • These courses are designed to provide specialized knowledge and practical skills that complement traditional academic programs.
  • It assists the students in selecting their career paths and placement.
  • The institute ensures that the majority of students are enrolled in any one of the certificate courses in every academic year.

Young Innovators program (YIP)

  • The institution participates in the Young Innovators program (YIP) to stimulate creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills among the students.
