The Department of Mathematics, in association with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Student Club, Ambedkar College of Arts and Science, Wandoor, organized an Orientation Programme and Exposure Visit under the Standard Club Initiative for newly enrolled members. The programme was inaugurated by the College Principal, Prof. Dr. Shamsudeen E., who highlighted the importance of quality standards and their role in ensuring safety, reliability, and excellence in various sectors. The morning orientation session, held at the Ayyankali Seminar Hall, introduced students to the objectives, activities, and benefits of the BIS Student Club, encouraging them to actively participate in promoting awareness about standardization and quality practices.
As part of the programme, the students attended an exposure visit to RBT Winding Central, providing them with an opportunity to gain practical insights into manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and industrial standards followed in the production sector. The visit enabled students to observe the application of BIS standards in real-world industrial settings and understand their significance in ensuring product quality and consumer safety. The programme successfully combined theoretical orientation with practical exposure, helping students develop a deeper appreciation of standardization and its relevance in everyday life and professional practice.
